Courses Taught
ApEc 8211: Econometric Analysis I
ApEc 8211 is the first quarter of a four-course Ph.D.-level econometrics sequence. This course introduces the statistical foundations of econometrics, the linear model, and introduce basic asymptotic inference for the linear model. The course includes modules on probability and set theory, conditional expectations and projection, regression in the population, sampling distributions, and asymptotics (LLN and CLT).
ApEc 3003: Introduction to Applied Econometrics
This advanced undergraduate course introduces students to econometric theory and methods. With hands-on experience coding in R, students will leave the course able to interpret the results of linear regression output, conduct their own analyses, and assess claims made in research using OLS.
ApEc 8990: Topics in Applied Food Economics
This PhD field course emphasizes the practical tools needed to engage in empirical research on food and agricultural economics. This course builds on theoretical foundations in supply of agricultural goods, agricultural markets and policy, and consumer theory. The course objective is to familiarize students with a variety of research at the frontier of applied food and agricultural economics and equip them with the tools to conduct this research. Facilitated discussion, peer review, and developing research ideas are key components of the course.
